Job summary

The Staff Pad in Wausau, WI partners with a regional healthcare system to recruit Registered Nurses for a high-acuity Cardiac Telemetry Step-Down Unit.

This full-time, 0.9 FTE role offers 12-hour shifts, exposure to complex cardiac, vascular, and pulmonary patients, and collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.

Candidates should have ADN (BSN preferred), Wisconsin and/or Michigan RN license, BLS/CPR, and ACLS within six months; compensation is $36–$51 per hour.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Wisconsin and/or Michigan RN license.
• Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• ACLS certification required within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care in a high-acuity cardiac telemetry environment.
• Continuously monitor patients and recognize changes in condition.
• Use strong clinical judgment and critical thinking to respond to changes in patient status.
• Care for patients recovering from cardiac, vascular, and pulmonary procedures.
• Manage patients with complex cardiac and pulmonary conditions.
• Administer medications, treatments, and nursing interventions according to evidence-based practice.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate documentation and promote patient safety and quality outcomes.
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.
