Job summary

University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health seeks a Part-time Patient Care Technician (Cardiac Telemetry). Provides direct patient care, takes vital signs, assists with ADLs, and supports care teams in a 7am–7:30pm shift. A CNA or GNA certification and BLS are required, with potential for growth in a busy telemetry unit.

Excellent teamwork and adherence to safety protocols are essential in this role within Harford County, Maryland.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Maryland state certification as a CNA or GNA required.
• No previous experience required; previous direct patient care experience preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing and manages the care of the patient based on results and clinical findings.
• Records patient care along the continuum including activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Completes, documents and reports patient vital signs and pain level.
• Assists in admission, transfer and discharge of patients.
• Participates in cost effective strategies to optimize patient outcomes.
• Promotes patient safety including fall prevention and safe environment.
