Kaiser Permanente in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a Monitor Technician to observe cardiac rhythms under the direction of the Registered Nurse and report deviations promptly.

This role requires EKG interpretation training, a High School diploma, Basic Life Support, and 6 months of experience (waived for KP Coalition). Emphasis on accurate monitoring and teamwork within the patient care setting.

Formación

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Must have successfully completed a course acceptable to the Employer in EKG interpretation.
• Six (6) months experience required; waiver for KP Coalition employees per the National Agreement.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Basic Computer Skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Must be capable of detecting and differentiating abnormal cardiac rhythms as evidenced by an on-site EKG test.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Willing to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment.
• Refer to Position Specifications outlined in the appropriate collective bargaining agreement.

Responsabilidades

• Monitors cardiac rhythms accurately.
• Remains present at monitor except for breaks or when coverage is arranged.
• Observes and reports deviations in rhythms from baseline promptly to the RN.
• Assists in identifying patient problems with Telemetry monitoring.
• Reports and records data to the Registered Nurse.
• Mounts monitor strips on documentation flow sheet for RN review.
• Assists in identifying supplies and equipment needed for Telemetry monitoring.
• Performs other related Monitor Technician duties as necessary.
• No supervisory responsibilities.
