Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of experience in cardiac, telemetry, cardiovascular, or related healthcare setting.
• Must complete treadmill training within 6 months of hire.
• Must complete Basic Arrhythmia course within two attempts.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize rhythm abnormalities.
• Effective communication and commitment to exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality electrocardiograms (EKGs) for adult and pediatric patients using approved standards and techniques.
• Operate ECG equipment to record and monitor the heart's electrical activity.
• Enter orders and manage results in MUSE and Epic systems.
• Prioritize STAT, ASAP, and routine ECG orders for timely patient care.
• Notify nursing staff/providers of significant ECG abnormalities.
• Educate patients on Holter monitoring and event recording during discharge.
• Maintain readiness of departmental equipment and supplies.
• Uphold Presbyterian CARES commitments with compassionate care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to meet patient care needs.
• Maintain infection prevention and regulatory standards.
