Job summary

Join Cleveland Clinic’s Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant on the Cardiovascular Telemetry Unit. Work on the J6-1 Cardiovas Surg Stepdown-Main Campus Hospital, Nights, 7:00pm-7:30am, providing supportive care under RN supervision.

The role involves caring for post-surgical and cardiovascular patients, monitoring vitals, assisting with procedures, and collaborating with a skilled team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within new hire period.
• Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) considered.
• Nursing students who have recently completed a minimum of one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program may substitute the clinical rotation for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as checking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheters.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
• Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
