Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Cardiac Surgical Tech to prepare the OR, set up instruments, and assist the surgical team in a variety of procedures, ensuring a sterile environment and patient safety. You will collaborate with the OR team and adapt quickly to changing cases while supporting the patient’s healing process.

The role requires ARC-ST accreditation or equivalent nursing credentials, WA licensure, and CPR certification; sign-on bonus available for eligible

Qualifications

• Graduation from surgical technology program accredited through ARC-ST or graduation from an accredited school of nursing may be substituted for graduation from a surgical technician program.
• Surgical Technologist Registration: WA, upon hire.
• Registered Nurse: WA, upon hire.
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room and patient for the surgical procedure by applying principles and techniques of asepsis to work assignments; sets up sterile equipment, instruments, drapes and solutions; assists with scrubbing, preparation of sterile field, gowning/gloving members of the surgical team.
• Helps the surgeon and any assistants put on their surgical gowns and gloves.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Cardiac Surgical Tech, you will help prepare the operating room and surgical team so they can successfully perform a variety of surgical procedures for patients. Every day you will set up surgical equipment and instruments, assist the surgical team, and ensure a sterile environment. You will be expected to adapt quickly, collaborate effectively within the OR team, and contribute directly to the patient's healing process. To be successful in this role, you must possess adaptability, a strong team-player mindset, and enthusiasm for supporting complex surgical procedures.

• Prepares the operating room and patient for the surgical procedure by applying principles and techniques of asepsis to work assignments; sets up sterile equipment, instruments, drapes and solutions; assists with scrubbing, preparation of sterile field, gowning/gloving members of the surgical team.
