Job summary

Valley Health in the Winchester, VA area seeks a Registered Nurse – Advanced Valve to support outpatient Cardiac Surgery and Advanced Valve programs. The RN provides clinical nursing care, patient education, and navigation across evaluation, treatment, surgery, and follow-up.

You will collaborate with the Valve Program Coordinator, manage nursing care plans, triage by phone, coordinate preop/postop steps, and help ensure timely, safe patient progress within a multidisciplinary cardiovascular

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse practicing in Virginia (or eligible to obtain licensure).
• Experience in cardiovascular or perioperative nursing preferred.
• Strong patient education and care coordination abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate clinical care for Cardiac Surgery and Advanced Valve patients from evaluation through follow-up.
• Perform clinical telephone triage and respond to patient questions and concerns.
• Escalate urgent issues to the surgeon, APP, or other provider as needed.
• Provide pre- and post-procedure patient education and exams.
• Reinforce medications, testing requirements, and follow-up plans.
• Navigate patients through the Cardiac Surgery and Advanced Valve care process.
• Support scheduling, records, and workup status with the Valve Program Coordinator.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
