Job summary

SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital is seeking a Physician Assistant for a PRN/Fill-In role in the cardiac surgery service line. The candidate will assist in the OR, including EVH, and work in clinic, with a competitive hourly rate based on experience and malpractice coverage.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of cardiac surgery PA experience, including surgical first assisting and EVH competency, and is certified as a Physician Assistant.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years' experience as a Physician Assistant in Cardiac Surgery including Surgical First Assisting and competency in Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH).
• Seeking Certified Physician Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Competent in the O.R. First Assist role, EVH, ECMO cannulation/de-cannulation.
• Perform comprehensive patient consultation and documentation, including ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing, and bedside procedures such as chest tube placement and central/arterial line placement.
• Evaluate and manage patients in clinic with accurate documentation.
