Job summary

UC Irvine is seeking a Nurse Practitioner PD in the Department of Surgery to manage inpatient care for cardiac surgery patients. The NP will evaluate, treat, and coordinate daily care across ICU and hospital units, participating in rounds and hand-offs with the cardiac surgery team.

Required are CA RN/NP licenses, NP certification, BLS/ACLS, and 2+ years of cardiac NP experience. Credentialing privileges must be obtained before start; CNAs union representation noted.

Qualifications

• Active California RN license.
• Active California NP license.
• Furnishing license and DEA registration.
• NP Certification AGACNP-BC or ACNPC-AG.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• At least 2 years NP clinical experience.
• At least 2 years of cardiac inpatient NP experience.
• At least two years of experience as cardiac or cardiac surgery NP.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient care for cardiac surgery patients.
• Perform inpatient consultations, evaluations, and develop treatment plans.
• Coordinate care across ICU, ED, and hospital units with the cardiac surgery team.
• Participate in sign-out hand-offs and rounds with physicians, residents and APPs.
• Assist in operating room as needed when credentialed.
• Ensure timely documentation and communication with patients and families.
