Job summary

Trinity Oakland’s cardiovascular surgery department in Michigan is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the CCU team. You will collaborate with attending physicians, cardiologists, and nurses to provide comprehensive care for critically ill cardiac patients.

The role involves daily rounds, order entry, care planning, and coordination of perioperative management with a focus on safety and patient-centered outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program with a Bachelor of Science including six to twelve months of clinical internship.
• Licensed to practice in Michigan as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
• Current BCLS and ACLS certification.
• Must be credentialed for clinical privileges through the Trinity Oakland AHP Credentials Committee and the Board of Trustees.

Responsibilities

• Maintain rapport and cooperative relationships; resolve conflicts constructively and participate in their resolution.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient, physician, and staff information.
• Behave in accordance with the Code of Conduct and Mission, Vision, Values and policies of Trinity Health.
• Assume responsibility for safe performance of duties and report hazards to management.
• Provide patient care as a first-line provider to critically ill patients in CCU in collaboration with the care team.
• Coordinate and perform patient assessments, orders, testing, and discharge planning.
• Prepare pre- and post-operative orders in consultation with the attending cardiologist.
• Manage post-procedural care and cardiac devices in collaboration with the care team.
• Proficiency with electronic health records for documentation and care management.
