Job summary

Sioux Center Health is seeking an Exercise Specialist in Sioux Falls, SD, responsible for conducting ECG tests while monitoring patients' heart rates, blood pressure, and pain levels. The candidate should have a high school diploma with preferred completion of an exercise science degree and a strong understanding of cardiac rhythms.

This full-time position requires safety monitoring of patients during exercise and accurate documentation of their vital signs. Work schedule is Monday through Friday.

No licensure or certification is required, but 2-3 years of cardiac care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor in Exercise Science preferred.
• Completion of CAN program, Medical Assistant Program or similar required.
• 2-3 years of cardiac patient care experience with strong knowledge of cardiac rhythms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Explains procedure to the patient and completes consent form.
• Preps skin to obtain good EKG tracing.
• Uses proper electrode placement and equipment setup.
• Obtains manual BP’s and follows the correct stress protocol.
• Monitors patients for safety during exercise.
• Documents ongoing patient vitals during and after the stress test.
• Enters all patient data accurately into the stress report.
• Maintains ECG equipment and lab.
