Job summary

Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking an Exercise Specialist to perform ECG tests during exercise and monitor heart rate, blood pressure, and pain levels.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with preferred Bachelor in Exercise Science; completion of CAN or Medical Assistant program; 2–3 years of cardiac patient care experience and knowledge of cardiac rhythms. Monday–Friday schedule; comprehensive benefits available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor in Exercise Science preferred.
• Completion of CAN program, Medical Assistant Program or like program required.
• 2–3 years of cardiac patient care experience with strong knowledge of cardiac rhythms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Explains procedure to the patient and complete consent form.
• Prep skin to obtain good EKG tracing.
• Use proper electrode placement and equipment set up.
• Obtain manual BP's and follow the correct stress protocol.
• Monitor patients for safety during exercise.
• Document ongoing patient vitals during and after the stress test.
• Enter all patient data accurately into the stress report.
• Maintain ECG equipment and lab.
