Job summary

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Weekend Contract RN for night shifts (7p–7a) in the Cardiology Stepdown unit (5 South) in Nashville. The role requires a one-year commitment with a fixed 3-day weekend schedule (Fri-Sun or Sat-Sun-Mon) and focuses on delivering patient-centered care for adults with complex cardiac conditions.

The position emphasizes strong assessment, critical thinking, and timely interventions to support patient stability and recovery.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved discipline specific program.
• RN licensure required.
• Experience level: 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
• Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient’s care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
• Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient’s progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions.
