Job summary

Vanderbilt University Medical Center seeks a dedicated nurse for the Cardiac Stepdown Unit (7 Medical Center East). This full-time, day shift (7a-7p) role focuses on advanced heart failure, LVAD, and heart/lung transplant populations, serving as a bridge between ICU and progressive care.

You will work in a high-acuity environment with a team-centered culture, contributing to patient care planning, education, and coordination, while pursuing professional growth and specialty training.

Qualifications

• Inpatient cardiology, stepdown, or ICU experience preferred.
• Adult acute care experience strongly preferred.
• Strong nursing assessment, education, and care planning skills required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates in establishing the plan of care and coordinates care delivery across the continuum.
• Analyzes comprehensive information to determine nursing diagnoses.
• Continually evaluates progress toward patient goals and adjusts interventions.
• Promotes health and a safe environment for patients and families.
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
