Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. in Powell, TN seeks a Patient Care Technician for a full-time night shift in the cardiac stepdown unit.

Under RN/LPN supervision, the PCT assists with activities of daily living, maintains patient safety and supports effective team communication. Responsibilities include collecting vital signs, assisting with feeding and hygiene, repositioning patients, ambulation, specimen collection, and adhering to infection control and PPE protocols.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in acute care setting or currently enrolled in a Nursing program preferred
• BCLS - Basic Life Support within 90 days of hire required
• CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant preferred or CPCT preferred
• Knowledge of patient care practices and equipment

Responsibilities

• Assists nursing staff in delivering care and maintaining a safe, organized environment.
• Collects and records patient data including vital signs and intake/output.
• Supports patients with meals, bathing, grooming and basic daily care.
• Assists with patient positioning, mobility, and use of walkers or wheelchairs.
• Collects urine and stool samples and performs blood glucose monitoring as directed.
• Communicates information effectively to care team and adheres to infection control policies.
• Maintains PPE use and observes safety protocols at all times.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains attendance.
