Job summary

Hillcrest HealthCare System in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Day shift, full-time Cardiac Stepdown Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our team. This role supports RN staff with patient care tasks and unit operations on a fast-paced cardiac unit.

You will assist with vital signs, transport, and routine duties while upholding our commitment to patient safety and compassionate care. High school diploma or GED and BLS within 14 days are required; CNA/PCT or paramedic certs or nursing school enrollment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role.
• Two years of experience in acute or long-term care is preferred.
• Phlebotomy proficiency is preferred.
• Completion of CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or enrollment in nursing school.

Responsibilities

• The Cross Trained Assistant performs CNA duties as well as clerical duties under the direction of a registered nurse (RN) and the unit manager.
• Assists with patient care tasks such as obtaining vital signs, transporting patients, passing meal trays, delivering hygiene care and answering inquiries within the scope of practice.
• Assists nursing staff by receiving patients at the desk, guiding them to appropriate rooms, providing initial instructions and assisting with chart preparation and patient disposition.
• Orders and monitors utilization of supplies (office, nutritional supplements, forms, charts) and helps stock and organize nursing stations.
