Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center is seeking an experienced RN for Cardiac Step Down, with day and night shifts. The role involves monitoring patients post-cardiac procedures, administering medications, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

The position requires a Florida nursing license and ACLS/BLS certifications, with a focus on patient education and safety in a high-acuity unit.

Qualifications

• Current FL Nursing License.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains annual clinical competence in care of patients receiving telemetry monitoring, open heart surgery, and vasoactive medication administration.
• Assesses clinical, diagnostic, and lab data of the population served.
• Monitors patients' hemodynamic responses to interdisciplinary plan of care and intervenes as needed.
• Performs tracheostomy care per hospital policy and procedures.
• Provides individualized teaching to patients and families requiring open heart surgery and telemetry monitoring.
