Job summary

Atrium Health High Point is seeking a full-time Diagnostic Medical Sonographer for our Echo Lab. You will perform routine and emergency echocardiograms (2D, 3D, Doppler) and support physician interpretation.

Requirements include AMA-approved ultrasound training, ARDMS/CCI credentials, current BLS, and patient-focused care. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are available, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology, AMA approved ultrasound course, or CMA accredited program in Diagnostic ultrasound (2-year program).
• One year experience with patients preferred.
• Must be registered in appropriate cardiology specialties within two years of hire.
• Current BLS Certification

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and emergency echocardiograms (2D/3D, Doppler, TEE, Stress) per physician and protocols.
• Records quality information during imaging and follows guidelines.
• Explains procedures and potential side effects to patients/families.
• Provides echocardiography services across locations and shifts, including on-call coverage.
• Operates and maintains ultrasound equipment and peripherals.
• Performs routine cleaning and preventive maintenance; reports malfunctions.
• Reviews patient medical history to obtain necessary information for procedures.
• Prepares preliminary reports for Cardiologist interpretation.
• Participates in quality improvement and maintains logs/records.
• Maintains confidentiality of patients and staff; collaborates with team.
