Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer I for the Echocardiography department at Carolinas Medical Center. The role requires performing echocardiograms (2D, 3D, Doppler, TEE, stress) and preparing preliminary reports for Cardiologists.

Hours are 40 per week with varied shifts, including weekends and on-call as needed. Certification in RDCS/ARDMS and CPR/BLS are required within the first year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, with credentialing in echocardiography within 1 year.
• ARRT(S), RDMS, RDCS registrations preferred; CPR/BLS required.
• One year of experience with patients preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency echocardiograms per protocol.
• Record quality information and prepare preliminary reports for Cardiologist review.
• Explain procedures and potential side effects to patients and families.
• Provide echocardiography service across locations, including weekends and call coverage.
• Maintain equipment and assist with QA/PI activities.
