Job Summary: The Cardiac Sonographer Registered Outpatient II performs cardiac ultrasound procedures under the supervision of the department supervisor. The role involves delivering exceptional customer service by prioritizing patient safety, preferences, and effective communication. The position collaborates with patients, families, colleagues, and external stakeholders to deliver accurate cardiac diagnostics, patient-centered care, and achieve optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

1. Performs routine and special exams following established protocols to ensure good diagnostic quality.
2. Analyzes test data and communicates findings accurately to reading cardiologists to support proper diagnosis and treatment planning, facilitating seamless collaboration between the sonographer and cardiologists.
3. Operates, troubleshoots, and requests repairs for testing equipment to maintain accuracy, reliability, and promote patient safety and workflow efficiency.
4. Maintains professional certification and CPR certification to adhere to industry standards and respond effectively to cardiac emergencies.
5. Performs IV insertions and maintains IV competency skills annually.
6. Administers imaging enhancing agents as ordered to optimize echocardiogram quality.
7. Completes 4 advanced activities as outlined by the departmental career ladder.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
• Licensure/Certification: RDCS by ARDMS or RCS by CCI; BLS (CPR) certification from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider; meets 4 of the career ladder requirements as outlined by the department.
