Job summary

ACHE is seeking a qualified cardiac sonographer to perform routine and advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures under general supervision, across multiple hospital locations and patient types.

The role requires graduation from an approved ultrasound program, RDMS or CCI certification, and Basic Life Support. You will document patient care in electronic records, help maintain equipment and supplies, participate in performance improvements, and mentor students and staff.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an approved and accredited Ultrasound Education Program.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in cardiac sonography.
  • RDMS Certification OR CCI Certification.
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Executes basic clinical competence in cardiac sonography across all locations and patient types.
  • Applies knowledge of sonographic principles, adheres to regulatory standards.
  • Documents accurate patient care activity in electronic health records.
  • Maintains a safe work environment and manages supplies and equipment.
  • Participates in departmental/organizational performance improvement initiatives and training.

Job Requirements Schedule:

Dayshift Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm rotating every other weekend.

Job Summary Under general supervision, performs routine and specialized cardiac sonographic procedures.

Primary Responsibilities The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job responsibilities performed.

  • Key Responsibility 1: Executes basic clinical competence in cardiac sonography, in all locations, across all patient types. Selects accurate equipment and technical factors on an individual patient basis and demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age of the patient.
  • Actively participates in the Clinical Ladder Program, if implemented, at the individual System hospital/location, meeting and maintaining all Program standards and requirements.
  • Key Responsibility 2: Applies knowledge of cardiac sonographic principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, physics, positioning and patient care skills. Adheres to Joint Commission, State, Federal and departmental regulatory compliance standards.
  • Key Responsibility 3: Documents accurate patient care activity in various electronic health records systems.
  • Key Responsibility 4: Ensures a safe and appropriate work environment. Maintains supplies and inventory in area. Informs appropriate colleague when supplies need to be ordered from outside vendors. Documents and reports related equipment/environmental problems in accordance with policy.
  • Key Responsibility 5: Actively participates in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives and efforts to improve workflows, patient experience and quality. Actively participates in student and employee training and educational activities.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Work Experience
