Novant Health is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer I in Wilmington, NC to perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound exams and support the echocardiography lab. You will work closely with cardiologists to produce high-quality images and ensure patient safety.

Qualifications

• Required RDCS or RCS credential; registry within 6 months for new grads.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CAAHEP-accredited Cardiovascular Technology or Cardiac Sonography program preferred.
• Associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive diagnostic echocardiographic examinations for patients of all ages.
• Perform TTE, TEE, and stress echocardiograms.
• Utilize imaging techniques: M-Mode, 2D, Doppler, Color Doppler.
• Evaluate cardiac anatomy and physiology, noting normal/abnormal findings.
• Obtain histories and clinical info to guide imaging protocols.
• Generate preliminary measurements and quantitative analysis for physicians.
• Acquire and manage digital echocardiographic images.
• Collaborate with cardiologists for high-quality results.
• Communicate critical findings promptly (e.g., dissection, tamponade, endocarditis).
• Monitor patient safety and comfort; assist in lab operations and equipment maintenance.
• Maintain ICAEL accreditation standards and department policies.
