A Cardiac Sonographer/Echocardiographer is a credentialed medical professional with the academic and clinical experience to use imaging technology to help physicians diagnose heart problems. They operate ultrasound equipment to produce moving 2-D or 3-D images of the heart and chambers. The scope includes procedures, acts, and processes permitted by law, for which the individual has received education, clinical experience, and completed ARDMS-RDCS and/or RVT or CCI-RCS registration, which are standards in Ultrasound practice.
