Job summary

Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, IN is seeking a full-time cardiovascular sonographer. The role performs diagnostic tests and procedures in the Cardiac/Vascular Lab and CardioVascular Services, excluding rehabilitation programs, and supports education for staff new to sonography.

Candidates should have 2–3 years of cardiac/vascular ultrasound experience and a technical school background. ARDMS RDCS or RVT certification is preferred; CC I is an alternative.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of cardiac/vascular ultrasound experience.
• Technical school education or relevant medical field knowledge.
• Registration/ certification preferred (ARDMS or CCI) and ongoing education is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic tests and procedures in the Cardiac/Vascular Lab and CardioVascular Services, excluding rehabilitation exercise programs.
• Mentor and educate staff new to sonography.
• Provide education and support to patients and significant others.
• Apply critical thinking in review of protocols and procedures.

Job Summary:

Full-time, 40 hours per week. Daytime hours working every 6th weekend. Perform diagnostic tests and procedures in the Cardiac/Vascular Lab and CardioVascular Services excluding rehabilitation exercise programs. Able to provide full realm of the vascular and cardiac sonography procedures. Able to be actively involved in the mentoring and education of staff new to sonography. Utilizes critical thinking skills attained during the preparation stage /review of the CCI/ARDMS protocols and procedures. Provides education and support to patients and significant others. Utilizes the education, experience, and special training which has been acquired. Patient is defined as any person from day one to older adult.

Required: Certifications/Licenses/Experience:

Technical school and knowledge or experience in the medical field. A minimum of 2-3 years of cardiac/vascular ultrasound experience. 2-3 years of ultrasound experience required.

Preferred Certification/License/Experience:

Prefer current registration through ARDMS as an RVT (registered vascular technician) or as a RDCS (registered diagnostic cardiac sonographer). CCI is an alternative. Registration by the Cardiovascular Ultrasonography Association to be pursued within two years of hire.
