Job summary

Medical Solutions Direct Hire is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer for a full-time, permanent staff role in Peoria Heights, Illinois. Under the direction of a cardiologist, you will perform high-quality echocardiographic exams to support diagnosis and treatment while adhering to ALARA principles and regulatory requirements.

You will perform transthoracic and stress echocardiograms, optimize imaging quality, document findings, and collaborate with physicians.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography program or equivalent clinical experience.
• ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCS) registry required or registry-eligible with ability to obtain within established timeframes.
• Current BLS certification.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform transthoracic, stress, and (when applicable) transesophageal echocardiograms with precision and consistency.
• Optimize imaging quality and ensure accurate measurements and documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians and clinical team members to support timely and accurate cardiac diagnostics.
• Maintain complete and accurate records, preliminary findings, and digital imaging data.
• Operate equipment safely and in compliance with ALARA guidelines and departmental protocols.
• Provide clear communication and compassionate care to patients throughout the procedure.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, competency verification, and ongoing education.
