Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer (Full-Time) to perform echocardiography procedures with ARDMS credentialed expertise. On-call required, including weekends, with rapid response-time expectations.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, accuracy, and collaboration with cardiologists within a hospital setting. Responsibilities include operating ultrasound equipment, maintaining quality control, and documenting echocardiograms while ensuring safety and compliance with PI

Qualifications

• Completion of ARDMS accredited program specializing in Cardiovascular Ultrasound.
• Experience in Adult and Pediatric Echocardiography; Adult Stress Echos; TEEs.
• ARDMS RDCS registration or eligible and/or appropriate credential in echocardiography.
• CCI (RCS) within 9 months of employment.
• Strong communication to interact with patients, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Operate ultrasound equipment with in-depth knowledge and proper transducer frequency.
• Maintain records of Echocardiograms for cardiologist and ensure quality control.
• Explain procedures to patients to elicit cooperation and provide comfort.
• Monitor patient condition during exams and report unusual occurrences.
• Assist physicians in related examinations and maintain department PI activities.
