Position Overview

Performs Adult Cardiac or Vascular Ultrasound procedures to facilitate diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Education, Certification, and/or Licensure:
   • High School Diploma or Equivalent AND One year of Sonography experience AND must obtain one of the appropriate certifications within two years of hire; OR
   • Recent graduate of a Cardiac Ultrasound Program AND must obtain one of the appropriate certifications within one year of hire.
2. Appropriate Certification Includes: Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS).
3. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

1. One year of experience in a certified echocardiography or vascular laboratory is preferred.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

Perform non-invasive imaging procedures based on certification (Cardiac or Vascular), ensure proper billing, coordinate patient scheduling, obtain pre-test information, perform procedures within guidelines, notify medical staff of abnormalities, document procedures, measure cardiovascular structures, maintain equipment and work areas, and ensure accurate billing documentation.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods.
• Lift, push, or pull a minimum of 40 pounds.
• Hearing ability without lip reading.
• Corrected visual acuity for reading small print.
