Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the patient and/or family to identify mutual goals based on nursing assessment and diagnosis.
• Diagnose, treat and evaluate the human response to health problems/needs.
• Evaluate outcomes of the nursing plan of care and revise as necessary.
• Assess, detect, monitor and prevent complications related to health situations or treatment plans.
• Notify the physician of patient condition and response to nursing intervention and document this action.
• Ensure patient pain is assessed, treated, reassessed, documented and evaluated.
• Delegate to other licensed and unlicensed care providers based on clinical nursing judgment and skill of the care provider.
