Job summary

Adventist Health White Memorial in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Monitoring Technician to oversee cardiac rhythms on telemetry screens, read and relay critical information to the nursing staff, and provide clerical support for the care team.

Requirements include a High School/GED, CPR/BLS and HLFS certifications. An Associate degree is preferred. This full-time role operates on a 12-hour day shift with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• CPR or BLS certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required
• HLFS: Required

Responsibilities

• Monitors electrocardiogram continuously, identifies and interprets cardiac rhythms, documents arrhythmia and reports significant changes to nursing staff.
• Supports the unit monitoring and evaluation process to improve patient outcome. Provides frontline electronic medical record order entry support for physicians and staff.
• Monitors electronic medical records throughout the day and addresses concerns with the registered nurse as necessary.
• Assists with admission and discharge process. Documents physician progress notes are ready in chart.
• Maintains Central Electrocardiogram (EKG) Telemetry Monitoring system for Direct Observation Unit.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
