Job summary

Geisinger Healthplex State College is seeking a Device Clinic Specialist to support the outpatient Electrophysiology Heart Rhythm Device Clinic. You will collaborate with the Device RN to ensure continuity of care, perform device interrogations and re-programming with supervision, and conduct remote evaluations per industry standards.

The role involves preparing physician-ready reports, educating patients and families, triaging device data, and occasional travel to outreach sites.

Qualifications

• Graduate from specialty training program (required).
• Associate's degree in related field (required).
• IBHRE certification preferred; ACLS and BLS within 6 months; IBHRE within 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage quality clinical care for patients with implanted cardiac pacemakers, defibrillators, and loop recorders.
• Perform interrogations and reprogramming of devices in office settings.
• Review remote transmissions daily and correlate with patient condition to manage arrhythmias.
• Evaluate and triage pacemaker/defibrillator reports and prepare physician interpretation in MURJ system.
• Educate patients and families on Pacemaker, ICD, and Loop Recorder devices and remote monitoring.
• Communicate critical findings to Device RN or Electrophysiology physician for urgent needs.
• Interpret arrhythmias and reprogram device settings according to patient needs and protocols.
• Ensure accurate daily entry of in-office charges with correct diagnosis codes.
• May travel to outreach locations to provide device clinic services.
