Job summary

Portneuf Medical Center, Inc. in Pocatello, ID, seeks a day shift, full-time Cardiac Rehabilitation RN to join our team.

The role focuses on care and education for Cardiac and Vascular patients in a rehab setting, with Phase 2 ECG-monitored patients and Phase 3 unmonitored supervision. The RN will support the rehab team, manage vitals, teach classes, and cover for staff vacations; Idaho RN licensure and BLS are required, BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN licensure in the state of Idaho.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Strong clinical background required.
• BSN preferred.
• BLS Instructor Certification preferred.
• Previous experience as a nurse educator/instructor in the clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse will provide care and education to Cardiac and Vascular patients in a rehab setting.
• Assist the Cardiac Rehab team with Phase 2 (ECG monitored) patients and Phase 3 (unmonitored) supervision.
• Support Cardiac Rehab staff for vacation and sick coverage.
• Demonstrates responsible management of departmental resources, including personnel, supplies and equipment.
• Develops, coordinates and evaluates an education program to meet community, hospital and department needs.
• Phase 2 patients: take vitals, enter results, provide clinical assessments, recognize abnormal rhythms, communicate with Cardiology staff.
• Phase 3 patients: supervise exercise sessions, document results, cross-train for patient education.
