Job summary

St. David's Medical Center, part of St. David's HealthCare, is seeking an Exercise Physiologist to support cardiac rehabilitation by designing and supervising exercise programs tailored to each patient's needs.

You will evaluate health, administer stress tests, and create individualized prescriptions to improve fitness, endurance, and recovery while maintaining room setup and sanitation and collaborating with the cardiac rehabilitation team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science or related field required.
• Master's degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science or related field preferred.
• BLS certification required by St. David’s Healthcare policy.
• ACLS certification must be obtained within 6 months of start date per policy.
• Exercise Specialist Certification or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate overall health of patients with focus on cardiovascular function and metabolism.
• Administer exercise stress tests and other evaluation tools.
• Develop individualized exercise prescriptions to increase fitness, strength, endurance and flexibility.
• Reevaluate patients’ progress during medically supervised cardiac rehabilitation.
• Assist with setting up the exercise room, equipment and supplies.
• Assist with cleaning and sanitizing exercise room and equipment.
