Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking an Exercise Physiologist II for the Lorain Hospital Cardiac Rehab program. The PRN position involves developing and evaluating exercise prescriptions, reviewing medical histories, and presenting lectures as part of a cardiopulmonary team.

This role requires monitoring patient responses to therapy and updating treatment plans regularly. Education includes a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science/Physiology with a Master’s preferred; BLS/ACLS or PALS training is required or

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science/Exercise Physiology required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• BLS/ACLS or PALS certification pathway; ACLS/PALS depending on specialty.
• ACSM or ASEP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate the exercise component of cardiac rehab.
• Review patient history and tailor exercise prescriptions.
• Educate patients on THR and RPE for self-monitoring.
• Conduct six-minute walk tests and document results.
• Provide home exercise guidelines and update ITP every 30 days.
• Serve as site supervisor for clinical student internships.
