Job summary

Saint Mary's Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England, is seeking a Per Diem Exercise Physiologist to support the Cardiac Wellness/Rehab program. The role includes patient assessments, individualized exercise prescriptions, program monitoring, and patient education within multi-phase cardiac rehab and related prevention initiatives.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Exercise Physiology or related field, with preferred cardiac rehab specialization, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science or Health/Fitness required.
• Specialization in Cardiac Rehabilitation preferred; Master's degree preferred.
• 2 years' experience in hospital-based Cardiac Rehab and Wellness programs preferred.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support certificate.
• ACSM and ACLS certification preferred.
• Knowledge of ECG, cardiovascular status assessment, and cardiac pharmacology.
• Exercise leadership and patient teaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing exercise prescriptions and treatments for adult cardiac rehab patients.
• Educate patients on exercise and health promotion for diverse populations.
• Operate in the exercise lab to prepare and administer exercise testing under supervision.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a positive, communicative work environment.
