Job summary

Salinas Valley Health Medical Center seeks a Cardiac Rehabilitation Exercise Physiologist to assess, plan, implement, and supervise individualized care and group exercise sessions in the Cardiac Rehab Department.

You will provide diabetes self-management education and collaborate with physicians and the health team to develop and update care plans, including discharge planning and ongoing patient education.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited university with a BA or BS in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology or Sports Medicine required.
• Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Adult Fitness/Cardiac Rehabilitation, preferred.
• Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status per American Heart Association standards required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individualized care and group exercise sessions in Cardiac Rehabilitation.
• Provides patient education on cardiac disease, diabetes, and other chronic diseases.
• Develops an individualized care plan based on patient assessment and age-related needs.
• Initiates, manages, and participates in discharge planning and patient/family teaching.
• Interprets heart rate and blood pressure responses during exercise therapy sessions.
• Communicates effectively with physicians, patients, families, and health team members.
• Completes all required documentation including progress notes on the LSI System.
