Job summary

Virtua Health in New Jersey is seeking an experienced professional to participate in program planning and supervision of cardiopulmonary rehab, including outpatient treadmill, nuclear, pharmacologic stress tests, and stress echocardiography. You will collaborate with physicians to deliver high‑quality diagnostic testing and craft initial exercise prescriptions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience in hospital or fitness setting.
• B.S. in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science from an accredited school or university.
• M.S. preferred in cardiac setting.
• ACLS certification. Completion of EKG course. ACSM certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains current knowledge in exercise physiology and cardiology EKG rhythms.
• Interprets objective signs and symptoms and modifies exercise accordingly.
• May perform routine stress tests (Bruce protocol, Modified Bruce protocol, Nuclear stress tests, stress echo) for outpatients.
• Monitors vitals at rest, during, and after exercise; records BP and heart rate/rhythm.
• Responsible for all patient outcomes including data entry, reporting and analysis for departmental projects.
• Evaluates and documents patient’s EKG during rest and exercise and overall test impression.
• Assists with Case Management and individualized treatment plans for Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab patients.
• Reviews charts before cardiac testing and follows protocols for physician orders or emergencies.
• Explains exam to patient and addresses questions; maintains equipment and liaises with Biomed.
• Suggests repairs or replacement of equipment; maintains manuals per TJC requirements.
