Virtua Health in South Jersey seeks a dedicated professional to join our Cardiac Rehab team. You will participate in planning, supervise testing, and counsel patients enrolled in supervised exercise training for cardiovascular and pulmonary rehab programs.

Collaborate with physicians to deliver high-quality diagnostic testing, interpret EKGs, and develop individualized exercise prescriptions while maintaining patient safety and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year’s experience in hospital or fitness setting.
• B.S. in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science from an accredited school or University.
• ACLS certification and EKG course completion are required or preferred.
• ACSM certification is preferred for cardiovascular care.
• Cardiac rehabilitation knowledge and telemetry familiarity are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintains current knowledge in exercise physiology and cardiology EKG interpretation.
• Advises Program Director and staff to ensure a safe, optimal program.
• Interprets signs and symptoms and adjusts exercise accordingly.
• Performs routine stress tests for outpatients when needed.
• Monitors vitals at rest, during and after exercise and documents responses.
• Ensures patient safety and supports emergency management within scope.
• Contributes to data collection and outcomes tracking for program improvements.
• Reviews EKGs during rest and exercise and assesses functional capacity.
• Supports case management for PAD and cardiac rehab patients.
• Coordinates with physicians on testing directions and patient care.
