Job summary

Virtua Health in Egg Harbor Township, NJ seeks a Cardiopulmonary Rehab Specialist to participate in program planning, supervision, and cardiac testing. You will work with physicians to deliver high-quality diagnostics and create individualized exercise prescriptions.

You will collaborate with the physician team to ensure safety, monitor outcomes, and support community health initiatives within the program. Prior experience in exercise physiology and cardiac testing is required, with ACLS and EKG

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of hospital or fitness setting experience.
• B.S. in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science from an accredited school or university.
• M.S. preferred in cardiac setting.
• ACLS, completion of EKG course; ACSM certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge in exercise physiology and cardiology EKG concepts.
• Performs routine stress tests (Bruce protocol, Modified Bruce protocol, Nuclear stress tests) and stress echo for outpatients.
• Monitors patient vitals during rest and exercise and notes symptoms.
• Evaluates and documents EKG during rest and exercise; assesses functional capacity.
• Responsible for all aspects of the PAD program including Case Management.
• Assists with case management and contributes to individualized treatment plans for Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab.
• Performs chart reviews before cardiac testing.
• Collaborates with physicians for direction on next steps and further testing.
• Explains exam to patients and addresses questions/concerns.
• Maintains exercise equipment and liaises with Biomed for repairs.
• Keeps equipment manuals; adheres to TJC requirements.
