Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Clinical Exercise Physiologist for MedStar Montgomery Medical Center to join an outpatient cardiac rehabilitation team. The role includes direct patient care, coordination with physicians, and supervising stress testing within a busy clinic.

Travel to affiliated clinics in McLean, VA; Washington, DC; and Chevy Chase or Bethesda, MD is possible. Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of EKG/ECG/stress testing experience and work well in a collaborative, patient-centered

Qualifications

• LPN or graduate of a certified Medical Assistant program or graduate of an Exercise Physiology or related program.
• 1-2 years post-graduation experience as a clinical assistant of exercise physiology.
• CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation).
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
• Cardiology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in the direct delivery of patient care including cardiac monitor study hook-ups and stress testing setup.
• Completes patient assessment by identifying chief complaint, updating medication list, and performing vital signs.
• Interacts with patients, physicians, and staff to coordinate information and ensure regulatory/compliance standards.
• Maintains a safe office environment and provides stress testing such as treadmill and nuclear stress tests.
• Reviews physician orders for testing appropriateness and processes pharmacy refill requests in line with office policies.
