Responsibilities

1. Caring for patients admitted to our heart and vascular unit
2. Collaborating with cardiologists, EKG techs, echo techs, and others
3. Monitoring and interpreting patient vital signs and cardiac rhythms and communicating any changes indicating a more serious condition
4. Serving as a trusted educator and resource for patients’ recovery and prevention of reoccurring issues through care plans you develop and implement

We are offering a $10,000 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for this position.

Qualifications

1. Associate Degree in Nursing
2. Minimum 1 year RN work in PCU, IMCU, and/or Telemetry
3. RN license in good standing with the Texas Board of Nursing
4. American Heart Association BLS, ACLS certification within 6 months

St. Joseph’s Progressive Care Unit is an intermediate level of care between general hospital floors and an intensive care unit (ICU), providing a step-down unit for patients transitioning from critical care. PCU patients require more frequent monitoring than general units but aren't unstable enough for ICU care.
