UTMB Health in Galveston, TX is seeking a per diem Perfusionist to operate heart-lung machinery and ECMO support within the operating suite. The role focuses on CPB management, consultation with the cardiothoracic team, and accurate data/documentation.

The perfusionist may support ECMO across UTMB campuses as needed. The position requires completion of an accredited perfusion training program, CCP certification, and current BLS.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited cardiovascular perfusion training program.
• Bachelor's degree in Perfusion Technology, Life Science, or Allied Health Specialty.
• Certification as a CCP by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusionists.
• Two years inpatient hospital experience as an RN with at least two years in the assigned area.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsabilités

• Manage Cardiopulmonary Bypass (CPB) during procedures.
• Consult with physicians on prime selection, drug and blood additives, and CPB techniques.
• Demonstrate clinical vigilance before, during and after CPB.
• Troubleshoot all CPB-related equipment and devices.
• Communicate with open-heart team during procedures.
• Maintain patient data and documentation accurately.
