Job summary

Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is seeking a seasoned Cardiothoracic Perfusionist to design and manage complex cardiopulmonary bypass procedures and related perfusion activities. You will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR staff to ensure optimal patient care from birth through young adulthood.

The role requires extensive experience with CPB, ECMO/MCS devices, and a strong commitment to patient safety, quality control, and ongoing education in perfusion

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field required.
• 5+ years of work experience in perfusion.
• Pediatric CPB and ECMO/MCS experience preferred.
• AMSECT Fellow of Pediatric Perfusion or equivalent; ABCPM certification required within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Designs and assembles extracorporeal circuits and equipment for CPB, MCS, ECMO and related procedures; manages patient parameters under physician orders.
• Performs chemistry, blood gas, co-oximetry, and ACT tests; collaborates with cardiac surgeon on circuit components.
• Maintains accurate perfusion case data entry and documentation for department operations.
• Manages inventory and tissue handling; oversees storage and transport as needed.
• Participates in clinical education and advancement of perfusion practice.
