Job summary

Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO seeks a Cardiac Med Intermediate Patient Care Tech (PCT) to support patient care under RN/LPN guidance. The PCU unit handles cardiac and respiratory cases without vents, requiring strong assessment and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, CNA/CPCT or enrolled in a healthcare program; or current Mercy coworker.
• Mercy provides a 175-hour training to meet state requirements, completed within 90 days.
• BLS required within one month; CPCT competencies within 3 months.
• Minimum physical requirements: lift 50 pounds, prolonged standing/walking, bend/kneel/twist/squat.
• Preferred: EMT, Paramedic or previous patient care experience; CPCT/CNA/AUA.

Responsibilities

• Assist under RN/LPN direction in individualized patient care to promote wellness.
• Perform designated clinical procedures and non-clinical tasks essential to patient care.
• Work cooperatively as part of a team to meet unit goals and provide compassionate care.
• Unit: Cardiac Med Intermediate/PCT in PCU, 24 hours/week, days, in Festus, MO.
