Job summary

UMC Health System is hiring for a Cardiac OPS nurse in a full-time day shift, 5 days a week (0530-1600). The role involves pre- and post-operative care within Outpatient Surgery, with a focus on nursing assessment, education, and safe discharge planning.

The ideal candidate holds an accredited nursing degree, Texas RN license or compact eligibility, BLS, and BSN within 3 years. CPAN/CAPA is a plus; UMC offers comprehensive benefits and career growth.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
• Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License
• Must maintain a current BLS certification from American Heart Association
• BSN required or must be obtained within 3 years of hire
• CPAN/CAPA certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Registered professional nurse who assesses, implements or delegates, plans, and evaluates total nursing care
• Provides and directs patient care for a group of patients
• Relates effectively with other shifts/departments for optimal continuity of care

Education

Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing

Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License

BSN required or must be obtained within 3 years of hire

CPAN/CAPA certification preferred
