Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care's Heart and Vascular Center is seeking a 90% (32 hours per week) Staff Nurse to provide direct nursing care in the CPRU for cardiovascular patients. Responsibilities include pre- and post-procedure care, coordination with a multidisciplinary team, patient and family education, and serving as a preceptor for new staff.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree required: ADN, Diploma, BSN, MNHP/MSN or MSN.
• Minimum 1 year recent Adult Cardiac Cath Lab, Telemetry, ER or RN ICU experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; Iowa nursing license by start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to CPRU patients and discharge to home or transfer.
• Operate monitoring equipment and troubleshoot as needed.
• Communicate with patients, families and the health care team.
• Serve as clinical preceptor to new staff.
• Follow policies and document interventions per unit guidelines.
