Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis is seeking a Cardiovascular Sonographer to perform advanced ultrasound imaging for cardiovascular diagnosis and monitoring. The role requires technical proficiency, patient care, and clear communication with patients and the care team to deliver accurate diagnostic images.

The position includes a $10,000 sign-on bonus and the opportunity to work within a collaborative Mercy health system focused on compassionate patient care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of Sonography with required clinical hours or on-the-job training under a Preceptor registered in Cardiac ultrasound.
• No prior experience required.
• State licensure may be required depending on the state of practice.
• ARDMS RVT or CCI RVT and ARDMS RDCS or CCI RCS or registry eligible (must obtain registry within 6 months of eligibility); Basic Life Support (BLS)

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of a school of Sonography and completed required clinical hours OR received on the job training by a Preceptor who is registered in Cardiac ultrasound.
• Experience: No experience required

• Knowledge of protocols and ability to make adjustments as needed.
• Knowledge of safe & proper machine operation.
• Knowledge of machine emergency procedures and radiation safety procedures.
• Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
