Job summary

Mercy Hospital Springfield - Heart Hospital is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to perform advanced ultrasound imaging and support diagnostic care, delivering high-quality images and collaborating with clinicians.

This full-time on-site role fits Monday–Friday with on-call and occasional weekends. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available; Mercy offers tuition reimbursement, relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits from day one, and a 401k with employer match.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of Sonography with required clinical hours, or on-the-job training under a registered cardiac ultrasound Preceptor.
• Licensed or licensure-eligible in the applicable state.
• ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCS) certification or registry eligible; obtain within 6 months; BLS.

Overview:

The Cardiac Sonographer performs advanced ultrasound imaging procedures assisting in diagnosing and monitoring a wide range of medical conditions. This role requires technical expertise in operating ultrasound equipment, patient care skills, and the ability to provide accurate and high-quality diagnostic images. Responsibilities also require a strong commitment to patient care and collaborative communication with patients and healthcare professionals to provide optimal care.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of a school of Sonography and completed required clinical hours OR received on the job training by a Preceptor who is registered in Cardiac ultrasound.

• Experience: No experience needed.

• Licensure: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.

• Certification/Registration: ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI(RCS) or registry eligible (must obtain registry within 6 months of eligibility); Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge in producing diagnostic images proficiently with the ability to recognize technical abnormalities.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

• Knowledge of protocols and ability to make adjustments as needed.

• Knowledge of safe & proper machine operation.

• Knowledge of machine emergency procedures and radiation safety procedures.

• Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
