Job summary

UH Cleveland Medical Center is seeking Surgical Technologists to join our Cardiac team. You will maintain sterile conditions, prepare instruments for heart surgery, and support the operating room team during complex cases.

Ideal candidates have Accredited Surgical Technician training, strong asepsis knowledge, and a willingness to participate in the 11am–11:45pm evening schedule with on-call responsibilities. Full-time, benefits available.

Qualifications

• Maintains sterile conditions and anticipates needs of the surgical team.
• Thorough knowledge of asepsis, instrumentation, suture and surgical procedures.
• Leadership skills or in a prior leadership role.
• Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient care needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, age-specific nursing care to patients/families.
• Provide patient care in primary scrub position.
• Assist with technical responsibilities in operative procedures.
• Ensure instruments and supplies are present and functioning.
• Provide labeled medications on the sterile field.
• Support the operative team and follow hand-off protocol.
• Participate in quality improvement processes.
• Engage in ongoing learning and self-improvement.
