Job summary

Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN, seeks an AP Manager for the Cardiac OR First Assist team to lead a high-acuity CVOR program. The role combines clinical oversight with operational leadership, staffing, and performance management for a team of <20 APCs and first-assist clinicians.

You will partner with surgeons and perioperative leadership to ensure safe intraoperative coverage, drive quality and process improvements, and support donor procurement workflows in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Current Tennessee licensure as NP or PA with cardiac surgery first-assist experience.
• Experience leading a surgical service line and managing teams.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead CVOR First Assist team including staffing and scheduling to ensure intraoperative coverage.
• Oversee performance management, coaching, and professional development.
• Coordinate with surgeons and perioperative leadership to optimize operations and donor workflows.
• Promote standardization of workflows and high-quality patient care.
• Balance clinical duties with administrative responsibilities and ensure fiscal accountability.
