Job summary

Northwell Health seeks a registered nurse to deliver age-specific care using the nursing process. You will collaborate with physicians and the health team to coordinate procedures and lead the care unit.

You’ll assess multiple systems, manage pain, document plans and outcomes, and support discharge planning while maintaining safety and patient-centered care. The role requires strong clinical judgment, delegation ability, and effective communication with patients’ families. NY license is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; RN license in NY required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred; must pursue BSN within 2 years and complete BSN within 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Conducts age-specific plan of care using the nursing process.
• Collaborates with physicians and health team to coordinate procedures and treatments.
• Directs/delegates activities of the patient care unit team.
• Assesses gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal and neurological health status.
• Evaluates pain level and pain management; documents patient status and plan of care.
• Documents care plans, patient responses, and discharge planning; ensures safety and care quality.
